  • Felt compelled to write a review after multiple great experiences here. Both my wife and I are active in the triathlon community and have competed in a number of races in the Southeast. As a result, we tend to spend a lot of time (and dollars) at bike and running stores. About a year ago my wife needed to buy a new triathlon bike and I came across a good deal at Inside Out sports - long story short, they did a great job of fitting her for the right bike at the right price. Fast forward to this year - now I was in the market for a new bike. Checked out virtually every shop in town, including some of the biggest places and also specialty Triathlon retailers. Essentially I was either not impressed with the selection or I was given the hard sell on a bike without anyone spending time to actually fit me and understand what I was trying to get to. Not so at Inside Out - from the moment I walked in, I knew this was a serious store for athletes looking to improve their performance. I dealt with both James (bike mgr) and Melissa (mgr) and both could not have been nicer. James measured me, had me try a number of different bikes with different geometries, tweaked the cockpits for each, and then encouraged me to ride each one outside. In addition, he listened to what I was trying to achieve race-wise and was able to give me feedback about each bike and how it aligned to what I wanted. All of this was done without a hard-sell AT ALL. Ultimately the bike that I wanted to try they didn't have in the store - Melissa worked with the Cary store to have a bike from their shipped over just so I could try it out! All of this was before I committed to purchasing anything. I actually did end up buying that bike for a great price (well under anything available online) and the bike was fitted to match me perfectly. I would guess that Inside Out invested at least three or four hours in ensuring I got the right bike - this is not typical in the high-volume bicycle shops out there. In addition, the store carries a number of running and swimming accessories, so if you are into running, cycling or triathlon I highly recommend it. The unmatched service and pricing makes it a cut above the rest.
