  • I just moved here from Miami after getting an amazing promotion. I'm used to a certain level of customer service that I myself give everyone I encounter. Having currently lived in the South Park area of Charlotte, I was looking online to find an apartment that can be considered "luxury living" until I find a condo I can love and want to buy. I came to Tryon Park at Rivergate expecting something else, instead I was met with disappointment. The person at the front desk seemed as if I was more of an imposition than an actual person of interest to them. I told her what I was looking for and yet the information she was giving me was for a unit that did not even meet the basic premises of my requests. Before we even figured out that the numbers she was giving me, were incorrect, she seemed hurried or not very interested in making me feel welcomed. She was giving me wrong prices and then, once realizing her mistake, decided to scribble out the information on the postcard she was giving me and wrote the new info next to it. Once she finished explaining, I kindly reminded her that I was not looking for a one bedroom and that I was looking for a two bedroom. She assumed since it was only me there that I would only need a one bedroom apartment - which I think is very elementary. One should never assume. I need to have an office space and the second bedroom would've been that office. When I told her that I was looking for a two bedroom and not a one bedroom, she seemed slightly annoyed and was like "I thought you said you needed a 1 bedroom" - which I never did. In fact, since her skills at interacting with me were so poor to begin with, it's no wonder she assumed. I asked if I could see any of the units and she told me, "no" and shook her head. Normally, when somebody says no, they give you a reason - but it was almost as if it was one of those dreaded and awkward one-sided conversations, one which everyone doesn't want to have. It seemed like I was asking all the questions pertinent to what an employee at a rental community should be asking a potential renter. So I inquired as to why I could not see them, to which she replied that the unit I want to see is not available for viewing. So I asked her again if there was anyway I could see any of the units that I might be interested in, so what does she do? Gives me a brochure. I'm very polite with people and in no way shape or form did I tell her anything about her lack of care or customer service skills. I try not to be confrontational so a Yelp review will have to do.
