Long overdue review for one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. Trattoria Nakamura-Ya easily deserves five stars due to the high level of execution present in so many of their dishes.
Nothing wrong with going down the 'most popular dishes' list on the wall. The uni cream tomato pasta is to die for, and I'm a huge fan of the squid ink as well. The jidori chicken is just bursting with flavor, and one bite of the hamburg steak was all it took to evoke memories of eating similar dishes in Japan.
Don't skip over the specials menu, though, especially since the dishes rotate in and out frequently. The super-refreshing cold summer pasta, so perfectly cooked and topped with karasumi, makes me miss hot weather more than our current cold spell!
Also, check out the happy hour specials (I think from opening at 2pm until 5pm). A lot of their best dishes have happy hour pricing, which they deserve huge props for.
