  • After seeing my third production, it's time to give some props for a great city program that has always delivered in entertainment from some talented kids. Here's the program description from their website: "The core of the Rainbow Company is its ensemble of 40 dedicated students, ages 10 to 18, selected yearly by open auditions. The Rainbow Company Ensemble members work in all aspects of each production. The costumes, make-up, sets, lights, sound and backstage crew responsibilities are all handled by Ensemble members under the tutelage of professional directors and designer." My God-daughter has been a part of this program for 4 years now. I love the open audition aspect of the program. Of course the best part is the performances but her exposure to all aspects of the production as stated above and then some, makes for a truly awesome experience. From beginning to end, she learns what has to happen for a successful production. To me, this is a great way for kids to learn about project management in a controlled and most of all FUN environment. Excellent skills to learn for this thing called life. The Theatre has an orchestra section and the live music really enhances the production. Everything the students work: Costumes, props, sets, etc is fantastic. The acting and musical talent is great and it's amazing what these focused kids accomplish in their shows. The theater is intimate and every seat is a good one. At $6 a ticket, you get a full production show (with intermission), support a great program, and you get a night's entertainment from some talented students. Enjoy..! =)
