| - We 'just happened to be in the neighborhood', so we decided to give Mr. Lucky's a go. Going to see John Carpenter playing at The Joint may have had something to do with it, too, BUT...
The food here is great for the HRH's version of a 24-hour 'nosh pit', something you can find in most of the major hotel/casinos. And as it goes with many of them, the portions at Lucky's are enough to take home and feed your entire neighborhood with. Think I'm kidding? I started off with the sliders, which came with a HUMONGOUS portion of hot, fresh, crispy tater tots...just the way I like 'em. I could have just stopped right there, but I moved on to the Lucky's Club Sandwich, because I wanted insurance that hunger pangs wouldn't keep me from enjoying the "Theme From HALLOWEEN" live!
I needn't have worried. To call this monstrosity "generous" would be a backhanded compliment. I JUST managed to get through it, and when I was done, I couldn't have gone with dessert if I'd given it the old college try! Our server, Rick was great, and I'm really sorry that we didn't return for dessert following the concert, like we told him we thought we would.
I don't know if we'll be back to the Hard Rock anytime soon, but if YOU happen to go down there, ask to be seated in Rick's section, and tell him that Sam sent ya! And by the way - since I didn't have a slice of that killer chocolate cake I saw on the menu, have a few bites for me, mmmkay?
