  • AWFUL hospital experience. GO TO SUNRISE HOSPITAL INSTEAD. When I first arrived (out of breath) the guy at the check-in desk was jabbing away on the phone not giving a rats ass about anyone or anything else. He didn't even acknowledge my presence. I had to interupt him and tell him that I was not able to breathe(due to my severe asthma) and that I had chest pain. . . HE TOLD ME TO SIT DOWN AND WAIT MY TURN(with an attitude may I add). First of all- ANY ONE who has studied or practiced medicine(which I have- I am a CMA currently studying for LVN) can tell you that any patient with those 2 symptoms needs to be seen RIGHT AWAY. I only got a bed because I refused to sit down and told them I had passed out before driving there and required medical attention right away. Thankfully another male nurse who overheard took me in right away. Then, the female nurse that was assigned to my care kept insinuating that I was faking it and kept saying that I was breathing just fine. She then proceeded to keep telling the other nurses and techs that were around the same thing. What medical care professional does that? You don't get to tell a patient how they feel or don't feel. If I'm saying that I can't breathe, then I obviously feel like I can't breathe. I wouldn't go to a hospital for the hell of it. Also, I mentioned several times (to several people- including my nurse) that I was having severe muscle spasms in my chest and abdomen- to which I was pretty much ignored and told that they were normal even as I was writhing and moaning in pain. I even asked(also several times) if I could be administered anything for the muscle spasms as I was in so much pain and was simply ignored not given any answer. Just looked at like I was a crazy person. Never ever EVER going there again. I have been to Sunrise Hospital on multiple occasions for the same thing and have even been admitted for my severe asthma(after I had a small seizure due to lack of oxygen) and let me just say that I was treated WAYYYYY better and they actually listened to all of my complaints. And they actually administered POTASSIUM to me when I told them that I had severe muscle spams. Not once have I been ignored or disappointed with Sunrise Hospital. I only wish that I would have gone there tonight instead. So disappointed(for lack of better words) with my visit and the staff at Henderson Hospital.
