I just want to say, I'm very disappointed.....in myself that I did not come here sooner. I cannot count how many times I've passed by this restaurant and told myself "I need to try this place." After seeing that they were participating in Restaurant Week, I finally made the effort to go!
Andre's is located in the old DW Bistro. It's a great neighborhood restaurant and honestly, for those living in the southwest, we are lucky! It was a busy night when we went (Thursday night) so I would recommend making reservations. We got seated right away which was nice. Service was great from beginning to end. I should've gotten the name of our server! I had asked him some questions regarding the menu and he was able to answer them without any hesitation, so props to him.
Onto the food!
- Wagyu beef carpaccio: loved this! It has a nice contrast with the smoked sea salt and capers.
- Seared foie gras: this was definitely melt-in-your-mouth type tx. It comes with figs (?) and basalmic reduction along with shaved parmesan.
- duck a l'orange: it was cooked perfectly. I was expecting more of a orange taste to it (bc name of entree) but the sauce that came with it is lightly seasoned with the orange taste.
- lobster thermidor: omg this was phenomenal! It came in a bowl. The bottom of it consisted of mashed potatoes, and there were asparagus and mushrooms. Big chunks of lobster too.
- creme brûlée: you can tell it's made with real vanilla beans bc there's black specks in the custard. I really liked this dessert. There was a nice crunch from the sugar coating and the custard itself wasn't super sweet.
- chocolate walnut gateau: This was meh for me. But honestly it's bc I'm not a huge fan of walnuts. The dark chocolate layer on top was good though.
I will definitely be back! I really liked everything that was served.
