| - I am a beginning Aquarist. Therefore, I need a lot of help with my new hobby.
As I did my research, I found two places worth visiting. Neither one of them were close to where I live or work. The first one I visited (approx. 31 miles away) was well organized, but my experience with the apathetic staff (no one proffered to help) was thoroughly disappointing.
The other one was the Pet Shop, which is 48 miles away from my home. Factor in traffic, and it is an easy hour and a half drive. However, both my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with both their store layout, health of the fishes, and most of all, the helpfulness of the staff.
No one would pass us by without asking if they could help us with anything. What a novel concept? Proffering to assist a customer as they wander through the isles.
And the health of their fishes; as well as, the cleanliness of their aquariums sealed the deal for me. I spent more than I normally would on the first day, and intend to return some time this weekend.
The fishes that I purchased and brought home are healthy and happy in their new home. No issues, whatsoever.
I am thoroughly impressed with their product and customer courtesy. Now, you may not be impressed with the fact that they aren't the largest pet store, but great things do come in small packages. And the Pet Shop definitely fits within that mold!
