  • It was Miss. Scarlett in the conservatory with the candlestick (Clue). I used to love that game. This is probably the only place I've been to that has a conservatory. I walked up several set of stairs to reach Casa Loma "Hill House," which used to be the former home of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt. When I first walked in, I was directed to the lower level for a map and audio guide. The audio guides are available in many languages, but I chose to walk around without it. There are three floors, with secret passages here and there. I started with the 800 feet underground tunnel, which was a bit creepy as no else was around. I wish I had Lady Pellatt's suite, with a bedroom, sitting room, solarium, bathroom, and wardrobe area. On the third floor you will find sets of stairs that lead to Norman Tower, which wasn't on the map. The tower provided great views. There isn't much seating around the castle, but I was able to take a little break at the theatre, where the movie being played was about Sir Henry Pellatt and Casa Loma. While the exterior was impressive and grand, the museum was just ok. It was stuffy, in more than one way. When I was leaving, I saw crowds of people. I suggest coming right when they open like I did.
