  • STAY AWAY. The sales person (Tom) sold us on the fact that they provide coverage for our location and it covers the parts, labor, repair. This company is running a scam. We called on Dec 7 to have our refrigerator repaired under this policy. They advised we would receive an email assigning a servicer/technician. We called again the next day and they finally sent the email assigning a technician. This letter stated that the technician would come out for repair and our only cost was $45 service fee. At their recommendation, we called the servicer to expedite service. The servicer advised they did not have a contract in place with American Home Guard Warranty. I called back every day for the next week and Earl from dispatch began his story from the fact that he was working on finding a servicer to accept their contract to then stating that all servicers are booked and he can't give me a repair date. After consistent calling, they authorized me to call a local technician and they would cover the cost minus my service fee ($45). We actually called the original servicer who came out the very next day - imagine that. The service technician diagnosed the problem and in following AHG request, I called to get authorization for expense. This is when they inform me that the part and tax are approved less my service fee. The service charge for coming out is not covered because "I" called them despite them authorizing. Then the "labor" to fix the system is not covered because they call this "installation" which is not covered. They took me to the clause in the contract (41d) that reads as follows: "This policy covers mechanical breakdowns, it does not cover shelves, door handles, doors, hinges, knobs and buttons, door seals, displays, latches, timers, leveling equipment, clogged drains or lines, cosmetic issues, gaskets, coils, leak searches, lights, noise, refrigerants, valves, dispensers, installation, electrical failures." Can you find the hidden word? Installation in the middle of physical parts. Total deceit. And recall, the original email they sent me stated I only had to pay $45. STAY AWAY....Earl tried to come across as trying to help me, but he was just being dishonest and no follow through on any commitments he made. Had to call every day to get something done.
