| - Bought a manual Hyundai Veloster 2012 at Agincourt Hyundai, after 6 years of owning this car. I can safely say I will NEVER buy a Hyundai again or get service done at Agincourt Hyundai again. TLDR at the bottom.
Here is a list of problems cumulative to date:
2012:
(1) Shift Knob - grinds and vibrates at a stop from factory - diagnosed 5 times and no fix
(2) Seat Durability - started to see lighter spots on all driver/passenger seats, premature wear - no fix
(3) Engine Light for Fuel Canister - received an engine light because there was something wrong with my canister in my gas tank. But by the time I arrived at dealer they couldn't reproduce to the problem (please refer to #9). I switched to 89 gas to remediate this problem.
2013:
(4) RUST - had rust along side the rear passenger door towards the top. My car was treated with Krown Anti Rust when I first received the car but that did not prevent it from rusting, this was fixed by the dealer.
2014:
(5) Handbrake Premature Wear - handbrake was wearing prematurely, as a result of this the car rolled into a guardrail while parked and damaged my front bumper. I contacted the Agincourt, they replaced the brake caliper but they did not cover the damage to the front bumper. (Please see #6 for recall)
2015:
(6) Handbrake Premature Wear #2 - handbrake was wearing prematurely again as they did not discover the root cause. But a recall was finally issued for the brakes due the calipers seizing (very dangerous). They replaced the calipers but did not replace the rotor. Had to pay to replace the rotor even when the reason for the rotor replacement was because of the recalled caliper.
(7) Backup Camera Switch Malfunction - backup camera would not trigger the A/V system to display the backup camera. This was replaced under warranty (See #11 for recurring issue)
2017:
(8) Squeaky Back Trunk - the rubber stoppers on my trunk wore out and started to make squeaky sounds whenever I hit a bump on the road. I've been to the service department a total of 4 times before they "fixed" it, they did not replace the stopper buts instead did a hack job by cutting slits into my rubber stoppers.
(9) Fuel Canister Replacement Recall - As it turns out, the gas canister had a recall, which explains #3
(10) Lack of Technical Knowledge - Noticed my the A/V system in my car was outdated and was never updated by the dealer. As a result I would have intermittent bluetooth and a/v freezing issues. I have gone to dealer and emailed Hyundai customer support but they did not have any updates for me. I had to resort to my own research to update the radio myself via this forum post:
http://www.velosterturbo.org/forum/veloster-electronics/13707-head-unit-5-1-63-update-non-navigation-owners-look-here-others-good-info.html
This should tell you something about Hyundai CSR's lack of knowledge, when a forum is more knowledgeable
2018:
(11) Backup Camera Switch/Sensor Malfunction - backup camera broke AGAIN, only this time they would not take a look at my car or replace any parts as I am out of warranty. I tried to make the argument that they did not find the root cause of the issue back in 2015 and hence the problem has returned. - not fixed
TL;DR: Don't buy a Hyundai or get service down at Agincourt Hyundai. Horrible incompetent service, poor quality build.
