| - Sometimes I feel like I live here. If they actually offered that, I'd be first in line. I'm a nanny to a veritable book-devouring machine; and we spend so much time here, cuddled up in those fun-coloured chairs and reading ALL the Magic Treehouses ever and any book on trucks for the millionth time.
While I've passed many afternoons in the quiet reading room upstairs (it is ridiculously quiet and homey and there are chairs by the window and aaaah, I love it so!), it's the children's area that is simply amazing. The play area is absolutely BEAUTIFUL - really cool, inventive, hand-painted and collaged wooden fixtures. There's a boat, a "letter factory", and an awesome play kitchen. Everything encourages imaginative play AND early literacy. I can't describe how cool it is; you really just have to see it yourself.
They also have a free, drop-in storytime on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; complete with crafts, movement, and lots of good stories for all ages. If you're a parent or caretaker of kids, I highly recommend this library and its programs!
