| - The menu is just the standard diner fare - the only thing that caught my eye was the crab cake sandwich. There were oodles of shredded crab, lightly formed into a patty. Some might dislike the patty falling apart, but I viewed it as a sign that there wasn't much filler to keep it together. The bread was a little too toasted and slightly oily. The steak fries were really good - thick and extra crispy. The skinny sweet potato fries were good but not as crispy. The food is generous on the fancy Serendipity plates, but nothing great.
The Mochachino frozen hot chocolate was disappointing - all mocha and no chino. I tried my friend's Oreo frozen hot chocolate, and it was much better, but nothing amazing - an Oreo milkshake in a pretty glass with three straws.
As many have noted, the wait is ridiculous, and the prices are ludicrous - the standard high "NYC foodie" base price + the extra "let's up the price because its Vegas" surcharge. Our wait for late Saturday lunch was an hour. (The wait for Friday lunch looked better.) After ordering, the food took about thirty minutes. The funny thing is that my friend got so hungry/bored that he found a check-in deal for a cheap beer, but the beer came halfway through the meal, so he was chugging it with our frozen hot chocolate.
To quote the classic line from Long Isle's Public Enemy, "Don't believe the hype."
