| - When the Arcade Bakery downtown closed I feel into a deep despair. I wondered, would I ever enjoy such a glorious thumbprint again? I didn't realize it at the time, but the answer was "yes," though I'd have to wait quite sometime. That time was TODAY when I visited DeLuca's for the first time. It's been in my neighborhood for nearly a year and I have no good excuse for the delay. FINALLY, a real, normal bakery in Lawrenceville! The man behind the counter (the owner, perhaps?) was very kind, especially when I realized I'd have to charge my $3 order or leave and return with cash. He didn't hesitate in accepting my card as payment and I assured him I'd bring cash next time. But let's talk about what's really important. Their thumbprints and dat BUTTERCREAM. SOOO good...puts Prantl's attempt at thumbprints to shame, no offense. I'm so excited to have such a great resource down the street. Everyone should go to DeLuca's. I'm sure they have more than awesome thumbprints, but that's enough of a reason to go. Just a bit pricey, but Lawrenceville rent is a LOT pricey, so I don't blame them.
