  • well, well ,well...where do I begin? As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by an old lady who gives off an air of judgement and indifference. She acts more like a gatekeeper than an ambassador! She really set the tone for the evening and unfortunately it wasn't good. It was also my birthday and I really felt slighted by her and the staff in general. The restaurant is beautiful. It is a shame that at 7pm in the evening the place was empty. I would assume it has a lot to do with the fact that they are very expensive and the portions are so disappointing. I mean wow...unless you buy a Groupon discount and really pace yourself, you can't help but feel ripped off! WE HAD TO BEG FOR A BASKET OF BREAD! That's right...after sitting for over 30 minutes we were still not provided any and we had to get up to find the busboy to get us some. The staff is not terrible but are slow and I guess take their lead from the old lady who insists that everyone be miserable. The food is blah, Rigatoni Bolognese was so hot temperature-wise you couldn't taste it. The Gnochetti Sardi was half a plate of blandness but the little sausage you got was good. The Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was so disappointing. The Cioppino fish stew over pasta for almost $50 was more like hospital food...so bland and the seafood ingredients were just not there. All in all....I suggest you go elsewhere for Italian. We are regulars at Don Vito's in the South Point, we also go to Casa Di Amore where the bill never is less than $275 but the staff is awesome and the food is filling. To close...I never go to a restaurant and not get at least one bottle wine but this place will force you to alter your dining habits. I'll pay more for good service and a sense of value for the experience but I still had a $250 check at Gaetano's and we cut back due to the overall negative time and experience. But hey...you be the judge!
