| - The young blonde girl who works at the front counter doesn't have customer service skills. I was at VL last week and brought some cupcakes in with me that I had baked for my friend's birthday. We were going to VL to celebrate with him. I didn't know there was a "no outside food or drink" rule. She VERY quickly told me, not so politely, that I couldn't bring them in because they have a restaurant. That frustrated me because we were going to order food and beer in the restaurant. They were going to get money out of us. Why couldn't I bring a few cupcakes for our friends to eat? So, I had to take them back out to my hot car where they melted. On special occasions I have brought a cake or cupcakes into a restaurant without any problems whatsoever. Not the case at VL, though.
We had about 10 friends meet us to go racing on this particular night, and the entire week before as well as the day of, we had checked the calendar to make sure that the track wasn't reserved for a private group. According to their site, it was free and open to everyone on this night. While we're there, though, she stops and tells us we will have to wait and just get put into races where there are seats available because they had a group reserve the track. We told her that that wasn't what the website said and she replied that the website's calendar isn't updated like it should be, therefore making it unreliable.
She made some rude comments to my friend as well, which ticked him off. He said he doesn't want to go back and truthfully, neither do I. It's a cool place and something fun to do, but who wants to deal with sorry customer service like that? Not us.
