  • On a long walk back from jazzfest, my friend and I stopped in to pick up some pies for dinner. I got the curried chicken pie and she ordered lamb pie. Firstly, let me say that I was quite impressed with the selection of pies, especially the dessert pies! they had mini chocolate banana cream pies...it was not easy to take a pass on those...but I was strong and only ordered the curried chicken. When I got home, I reheated my curried chicken pie for dinner and it was perfect! The crust was nice and flaky, the filling was perfectly seasoned and the curry had a nice bit to it, with just the right meat to veg balance. I spoke with my friend the next day and she stated that she wasn't a fan of the lamb pie, that it was disappointingly flavourless... Despite her experience, I will be returning, as I have my eye on a peach raspberry pie for the next dinner party I'm invited to...and maybe a mini chocolate banana cream pie for the road.
