| - OMG!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! We were so excited about our family reunion we had planned for months. We had scheduled our whole family to stay at this hotel and we used the Conference Center for our celebration. I must say, The conference center was beautiful, clean and the room was decorated beautifully. The food and the set up was top notch. If I owned the Conference Center, I would change the name so that it is NOT associated with the Windemere hotel. The hotel property is run down and not maintained well at all. The rooms had a musty smell and the bedding was old and worn (I literally wore my clothes and shoes to bed!). The bathrooms were gross! Bugs in the tub and the faucets were disgusting! There was a microwave and fridge in the room, they too were yellowed and dingy. There were VERY sketchy people roaming the property at all hours and we saw a pit bull wandering around the courtyard unattended and doing his business with no one to clean up after him. The pool was murky and full of debris and the swim towels they gave us...were literally RAGS! Again, very scary people milling around the pool as well. We had small children with us and there was a couple that really needed to take their conduct back to their room, totally inappropriate behavior for small children to witness. There was definitely something unsettling about this place and questionable behavior occurring on the property. We stayed only ONE night and checked out...we shouldn't of even stayed the one night, but we got in late and we couldn't think about finding another resort last minute. There was screaming outside our windows, some talk about "cops" and people swimming at 3:30 in the morning! The next morning for breakfast there were several male guests trying to take food back to their rooms. The front desk staff told them they could not remove any food from the dining area and these men went ballistic. Cursing and yelling. One even threw his tray of food against the wall and yelled profanities as he stormed off. However, then we saw a woman fill 4 big personal water bottles with milk, juices and coffee. She had plates of bagels, muffins and other breakfast items. She sat at a table and wrapped the food in baggies she brought in and put everything in her purse. The staff stood there and watched HER and did not say a word. Hmmmmm....suspicious??!! It seemed these people were LIVING at the hotel and bringing back food for later or maybe others? Whatever!! After the outbursts and shady activity going on, we checked out!! In fact, during the rest of our time in Mesa, we happened to drive by the hotel on TWO separate days and each time saw several cop cars with men in custody!! This place needs to shut down!!! If nothing else, get some security for the lobby and the poor front desk staff!!! Thankfully, We were able to find a FANTASTIC resort down the street and ended up having a wonderful stay in Arizona!
