I was extremely turned off by the customer service I received at this location tonight. I walked over after a spin class (next door) which ended at 7:45 to get some Mother's Day gift packaging and two cards. Obviously these tasks would not take overly long, 10-15 minutes tops. When I walked in the store was actually quite busy, likely because a lot of people were stopping after work and after the spin class for the exact same reason that I did. I will take the blame (I suppose) for not looking at the door to see that they close at 8p...bad business if you ask me. Other stores are open later and with the class next door letting out each night at 7:45 you would think that 8:30 would be a much better and more sensible closing time. What turned me off was the incredibly RUDE clerk who walked around rudely telling everyone that they close in 5 minutes and to wrap it up. She then did it again at 2 minutes. Honestly, if I wasn't busy and didn't already have items in my hand I would have walked out without making a purchase. I understand that everyone is tired and wants to go home...this INCLUDES the customers! I can understand turning off the music at 8p, I can understand walking around at 8p asking if she could help anyone make a selection or find something but making customers uncomfortable, anxious and being rude is unacceptable. Further, she locked us all inside the store and once we were all checked out she unlocked the door and "let us leave" which I also found to be offensive and unprofessional, there were 5 of us I believe.
Moral of the story for me... although convenient, I'll skip this sad little store and run up to Rolliers next time I need a nice card/wrapping quickly. Rollers actually has Papyrus cards which are significantly nicer than anything any Hallmark carries anyway. If you can't run to Rolliers I guess you should just make sure you go here at lunch to avoid being basically kicked out at 8p.
