| - Out of the three breweries I visited on my time in Phoenix, this one was the most chill. The vibe more like a coffeehouse, from the interior design, located in a suburbany neighborhood, and chic appetizer options. Let me say that the owner is a real charm. She harnessed all the qualities of a great waitress, moxie bartender, and loving mother. She was very warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped in to the moment we ordered our unusual order. We asked to try ALL 20 of their beers on draft. She ingeniously served my friend and I a half order of the 4 oz flights that come out in fours. They have a beer for everyone, and you will fall in love with something for sure. My favorites were the Pink Boots Gose, Saison de Peche, Golden Rye Ale, and the Oatmeal Chocolate Milk Stout. The Pink Boots has a sour start, but immediately turns into sourdough bread into my mouth. I love that sensation and gets a thumbs up from me. The Saison de Peche is a very light. It has a light peach undertone that would probably work for eating brunch on a sun lit patio in France. I immediately feel like I was transported into a Monet painting while drinking it. The Chocolate Milk Stout is the beer I would have wished for when I was 12! It literally tastes like ovaltine with oatmeal flakes thrown in. Its definitely a dessert type beer, but I could have easily have ordered a pint of it. I did like the Cherry Porter, but I was hoping fr the same amount of smoke as the smoked apple at arizona wilderness. Its good but a little too mild for me to love it. Pride of Nottingham seemed like something I wouldnt enjoy, but it was actually pretty good. Blossom Orange was good, but I couldnt help feeling it as a little too sparkly for my taste. It felt like I was drinking a mimosa. I will say though thats the best beer to drink with a traditional american breakfast.
Food wise I decided to take it easy and mostly focus on appetizers. Dont be an idiot like me and order shrimp in Arizona. Just dont do it. Presentation wise it looks beautiful with the bed of lettuce and pineapples, but the shrimp was not fresh. There wasnt much flavor to it to begin with. The bacon popcorn is worth every penny. If you like unbuttered popcorn with a solid taste of bacon, get this. It works really well with the different beers. The meat and cheese board was definitely a highlight. Price wise, its super expensive for the portions they give you, but considering I wasnt paying for i tried everything expect the blue cheese. All the cheese are great. All the meats are great. Although I dont see how pork belly fit in with the other flavors, it was pretty damn good (of course if you dont like greasy and fatty meat, dont order it). The candied walnuts that come with it are superb. They had this great cinnamon sugar coating that made me wish I had a whole barrel full of them to eat.
There's something relaxing about this place. I dont know how it is during the weekend, but on a weekday night, its worth trying out.
