  • How cool is it to run on the strip at night? I have done this race 3 years in a row because of the fun factor. Here is the pro/con breakdown (half marathon): PRO: you are in vegas! Most of the course is fantastic- 10+ miles on the strip at night. Bands, spectators, costumed runners & all the fun. The finisher area was very organized. Yes it was crowded but i was able to just keep walking straight & get my medal, blanket, photo & all the snacks. love the chocolate milk! VERY flat course. I know most people said they can't get a PR here but 2 years in a row i did due to how flat the run is. I did have to squeeze & dodge in between a lot of runners though to keep my pace. CONS: Expensive- but shutting down the strip must be costly so i can live with it as long as prices don't increase. So many liars in corrals they shouldn't be in. I spent 6 miles weaving through slowpokes who should have started further back. So frustrating. & ladies don't walk/run 4 abreast blocking the entire middle! The Expo seemed smaller & much more crowded. We came on Friday to try to avoid this but it was ridiculous. The bananas this year at the finisher area were all mushy & gross. Not a big deal but i was looking forward to having one. Overall this run is a great time & i will be back.
