  • This is the first room hubby & I have reserved in Vegas! We decided to do a one night stay-cation just to get away from stress & spend some quality time with each other, & we must say, this wasn't too bad of a choice! First, I booked the room from a traveling site, Bookit.com. Even though it saved me $10 off the regular room price if I were to book it directly with the hotel, that source is such a headache & their customer service sucks... But anyway, back to the Palms. Upon check-in, the hotel front desk was very professional and courteous & made sure to notify me of the resort fee & security deposit that was going to be charged to me, which was no problem at all. Also, the resort fee and security deposit were explained in great detail w/ no fine print. The room itself was pretty spectacular for the price we paid. If we had booked earlier, we could have gotten a strip view, but regardless the room was still beyond expectations. We were disappointed that we couldn't open the sliding door to the balcony though :( It was very roomy, lots of closet space & very comfy! The bed was huge & so comfy, the kitchen within the suite was equipped with cutlery & cooking supplies that we didn't use, but are useful for those that will use them. The lighting was intimate & it was handy how they had a button for Housekeeping and/or Do Not Disturb rather than the nuisance of hanging the little door tag outside the room. The blackout curtains were also great. The bathroom was roomier than most, big mirrors for the ladies & a separate shower & soaking tub area that we loved! The rain shower was relaxing as much as the tub was. The casino itself we enjoyed, it's not as packed and crazy with tourists as the strip casinos are normally found. Most importantly for us, it didn't have a strong cigarette smell that most casinos do. That was definitely a plus since we are expecting! :-) Check out was easy and seamless & the front desk person in the morning was also very friendly and personable. She let me know that the initial security deposit was going to be refunded back to my room because there were no in-room purchases or anything. OVERALL, it was a great stay for me and my hubby & we already have plans to come back!
