| - Nope. This isn't even a good hip-hop club let alone a club on the strip. I understand all the clubs on the strip are EDM dominant, but there's just nothing appealing about this club musically or aesthetically. It was all the hype a few years ago when it first opened, but I was here last Saturday and it was just a no for me dog. The DJ didn't have a great flow, it was pretty much empty for a Saturday night and even with bottle service I still was bored and left early.
I was actually just passing through the Mirage hotel going to get drinks at the bar with a friend when we were approached by a promoter the minute we walked through the entrance of the hotel and asked if we were heading to 1 Oak. I said, "Uh, sure, yeah we're going to 1 Oak." He gave us passes and said ladies are free right now. So we went through a few fake bag checks with no line to get in and there we were. We actually ran into friends that had bottle service and even they were like, "We don't know half these people at our table. They just appeared." As the night went on I noticed security guards, both male and female, dressed in bright yellow polo shirts and black pants. It made the club look cheap, like we were at a concert in a parking lot as opposed to a nice nightclub.
It sucks because I feel the strip is lacking in hip hop/R&B DJ's with a great party vibe, but 1 Oak is not serving that to me.
