| - The Vinyl is a small, intimate venue with reasonable drink prices, friendly bartenders, and friendly staff - aside from the security at 4/2's Knuckle Puck show.
The show is a punk rock show, crowd surfing & rough crowds are to be expected. Learn who your audience is - learn that this is how the crowd will be.
The security was assaulting those who were crowd surfing (no posted/visible signs saying to not do this). They were quite roughly pushing and shoving those. Some of the people they decided to "kick the f**k out" were small, teenage girls who they handled like three hundred pound men. Grabbing people by the backs of the neck, pushing them into walls, etc.
Unfortunately a girl was hurt, and qualified medical people from the crowd rushed to help. Security verbally abused those HELPING the girl who was hurt, returning our requests for help with snarky comments, telling us "This is all your fault. You hurt somebody".
The verbal and physical abuse from security tonight has singlehandedly ruined small, intimate shows. The grown, adult men who believed it was appropriate to handle young adults the way they did have tarnished Vinyl & the Hard Rock Hotel. The show was ruined, and cut short due to these men who could not come down from their ego trip. I have never felt more uncomfortable around people who are supposed to keep me safe - not make me scared to have a good time.
I really loved my time at Hard Rock, however, I will no longer be supporting this property & encouraging those around me to do the same. Many people filed police reports. Please think before you buy tickets to see a show at this venue.
