| - This used to be our favorite sportsbook. My buddy and I come here every year and have for several years. It's nice that you can use your players card for sports bets. They also have a large amount of tvs to watch games on, both big screens and individual ones. But, many of the individual tvs are about 25 years old and you have to use a pencil to change the channels. They have become extremely stingy with drink tickets too. I was told I had to do a $50 bet for a ticket. Later that day, I made a $100 bet and the same guy snapped at me like I was taking a drink ticket out of his own pocket and he only had me one.
So we spent 5 days here. On the last day it all went down hill. Apparently when it's a weekday and not many games are on, they don't care about you. Several of us were trying to bet on a game, but only one counter was open. Not only that, they let all of the horse bettors in the back of the line go in front of us. Meanwhile, the manager was walking around behind the counter and only opened up a terminal after other people in line complained. Needless to say, I missed getting my bet placed in time. And, the game I wanted to bet on would've been a winner for me.
Later in the night, at about 8:30, the manager started turning off all of the big screens, even though games were still on. So obviously they want you to make bets, but they don't want you to watch them. I ran down to cash in my tickets and was told it was too late. Thanks for the warning!!! We asked if we could keep one big screen on so we could finish watching the game and we were told no. The customer service here has gone downhill greatly and really really sucks!!!!! The only redeeming quality is Po the bartender. He's awesome!!! David on the other hand, sucks. He refused to change out a tap and just said, "yeah it's just one of those days" when I told him it sucked that beer was out. Ballys management needs to step it up.
So later I go to the casino cashier to collect on my winning sports bets. I have done this several times in the last few years. I was told the system was shut down and I could either come back at 4:30AM or go to the sportsbook at 8:00AM. Normally this wouldn't be an issue except that I'm leaving in the morning and not staying at this hotel. I'm not making a special trip to go cash my tickets so now I have to mail them in. I'm must about done with this crap hole
