  • I was always a huge fan of Other Mothers after shopping at one in Abq, NM and Boise, ID. I had awesome experiences there and it was always a pleasure doing business there. Then I came to this Other Mothers. I have been to this one three times. One out of those three times was okay. When I have brought items in, I've always made sure it is something that is in season and needed. I even call ahead each time to make sure these are items they're looking for. I go through everything making sure there are no stains, rips, etc. The first couple of times I sold here it was fairly easy and overall I got a fair price. I wasn't expecting much, especially because I know they still have to make a profit on items they take. Today's experience has cemented my decision to not do business here anymore. I brought in a basket full of spring/summer clothes ranging from 12M-4T. When I called this morning the woman I spoke with said they were in need of those. I came in with my basket and waited at the credit counter for a good minute before I was finally addressed by a woman standing there. I am not expecting someone to completely drop what they're doing to help me, but a simple, "I'll be with you in just a minute" would suffice. I fill out the card and am told it will take them about 30 minutes to go through my items. When I came back up, Diana so rudely told me, "We went through it and we're not taking any of it." When I asked why I wasn't given an answer. Just a "Have a nice day" in the smuggest voice you can imagine. My problem with this store is that the service is always a hit or miss. This is very disappointing and bad for business. Every employee seems to be able to do whatever they want to do. Either have standards or don't. I have seen items on the floor that are complete junk, but you don't accept name brand children's clothing in near perfect condition. Yes, I could have a yard sale or sell online and get fair prices. But the point of a consignment store is to make it easy by trading items you don't need with ones you do. That's why I've always been a huge fan of stores like this. If you want a nice atmosphere with awesome employees who actually know what they're doing, go to Kid to Kid. At least there they're consistent and you have a good idea of what to expect going in.
