| - Motto of this buffet: "You don't leave when you're full, you leave when you hate yourself."
This was probably my number one thing to check off my bucketlist when I found out I would be coming to Las Vegas. Being an avid travel channel watcher I think I've seen the same episode of greatest buffets about 10 times. Every time they showed Bacchanal buffet in all its glory I would tell myself eventually I'll go here. And now I have.
Bacchanal is located in Caesar's Palace Casino & Hotel. It's not there when you first enter if I remember correctly. I believe we had to walk through the casino to finally arrive.
The line is LONG. Be aware. This isn't the place to come to where you're hangry and desperate for food. But it is so damn worth it to stand in the line. Since we were a party of four we checked in at one of the computer stations and got a ticket. If your party is bigger than...5 or 6? (Not sure on the number) you'll be put in a different line to accommodate everyone.
We stood in line for about 25-30 minutes with ease. We struck up conversation with the boys in front of us and they told us the food was so amazing and worth it. Basically hyping us up even more for what was to come.
It is pricey for dinner, we wanted to come for lunch but SAT & SUN IS BRUNCH & DINNER. There is no lunch and therefore we paid dinner prices. :(
Once we got to the front and were led to the tables we all had game faces on. There was strategy in everyone's mind. I had two separate stomachs ready, one for sampling everything savory and one for sampling everything sweet. It was a delicate balance, but I think I succeeded.
I started more on the asian cuisine side. I had the seafood pasta (YUM), pot sticker (yum), shumai (meh), macaroni (yum), lamb (YUUM), piece of beef (?YUM)--not exactly sure which one I had, mashed potatoes (yum), macaroni salad (yuum), bread (yum!), hummus (meh).
I sampled as much as possible, which meant I didn't grab heaping portions unless it was out of my control (like going to the meat station). I obviously can't ask for a small slice. They just give you what they cut. But the meat station is definitely a must. Try to sample among your friends.
The crabs are also a must, as my friend was quite satisfied with the crab legs they had to offer.
The dessert station was my absolute favorite. I tried everything. I mean almost everything. Gelato, pecan tart, red velvet cupcake, cheesecake, tiramisu, cake. I dived in. I had the salted vanilla and the cookies and cream gelato. Everything was amazing. Good lord.
You leave when you hate yourself. There is no such thing as being full. When you loathe your very presence that is when it's time to go, but not a cupcake sooner. Eat until your heart can't take it, stuff your face and remind yourself it's 60 dollars so you damn well better eat 60 dollars worth of food.
If I ever visit Vegas again I will be most excited to be back in this line ready to devour everything in site.
