A Christian walks into a Pagan Book store to buy a Steampunk Tarot deck...what sounds like the start of a bad knock knock joke was actually how I found my way into Well of the Moon. (Ok so it wasn't EXACTLY like that but lets be honest that opening line was too good to pass up).
So for the TL;DR crowd my review is: friendly knowledgeable staff, great selection of herbs and incense, a sense of community and scholarship - would highly recommend.
For those who want more words - read on!
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is not a single discussion I have had with any of them where they did not connect what I was purchasing to another item either by the same author or along similar lines. I want to make it clear this is not in the annoying up sell sort of way, but in a way that makes it clear that they know about the products and are excited to share their enthusiasm.
The place is very welcoming to people of all ages - I loved Papa Odin at Yule! They are very conscious of making sure children feel welcome (and also check with an adult too before showing something or answering a question). There is a strong sense of community and scholarship with frequent classes and workshops.
They have herbs and incense and fun bits and bobs. (Which probably have more spiritual significance than I am aware of and in fairness I'll let them call the communion 'shots of grape juice'.) The pricing from what I can compare with any sort of knowledge is very reasonable.
Looking for any particular Tarot Deck? If they don't have it they can order it and will call you when it comes in. (I'm sure they will do this for books as well).
So seriously good vibe, good people. Also if you need a meeting room they do have a space to rent that is comfortable and a good size for a book club or reading/discussion group. They are always welcoming to this Tarot collecting Christian and I hope I have returned the same friendliness and respect they have shown me.
