| - This review is from a visit from mid-March. I had been here once before, and the food was wonderful! Unfortunately, not this time. The service left much to be desired. First, when I asked our waitress what the margaritas in the flight experience were, she referred to notes and only listed two of three, and said, "I think the third is this...". Did she go confirm? No. It was odd and LAZY. I was a little puzzled that she wouldn't go check.
One of the dishes, the "dan dan mian" was highly lackluster. No flavor, lukewarm and just bad. She came back and saw we barely touched it, but just was about to take it away without asking if anything was wrong. I interjected saying, this dish wasn't as good as the others. She responded, "Yeah...depending on the night, it's hit or miss"...
I was shocked. Does Jose Andres think his food is HIT OR MISS? I would LOVE to hear you say that with him standing in ear's length. Any chef would be highly offended of this comment.
The kicker? She didn't take it off our bill. So we took it off her tip.
I won't be coming back. Or to any Jose Andres restaurant. Especially if he has servers saying his food is "hit or miss". Yikes.
