| - This spa is brand new and is still working through the types of issues that any business has in its early stages. I will definitely go back to check things out after it's been open for a few more months. I learned that they will have a full time Spa Director in mid-December, so I'm hopeful that things can only get better.
The spa menu is available online, complete with pricing. Locals receive a 20% discount, however, it is not an option for nail services. I learned that the hard way! They also have a cosmetologist, but no salon services for hair. That surprised me. You have use of the fitness room, but there are no hot tubs or steam rooms, etc., like you will find in most hotel spas. The spa is open 365 days per year.
The spa is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The entryway is small but pleasant. The nail area is right off the reception area, which feels tacky and misplaced to me. It was very awkward getting a pedicure in full view of other patrons. There are two pedicure stations and one manicure station. The area is cramped and small, and is still in the process of being decorated (read: it's plain and boring). My express mani/pedi was very well done, though, and I was pleased with the results and the tech (Kelly). They use Morgan Taylor Lacquer, and I'm now a huge fan - great stuff.
They have separate entryways for men and women if you get other treatments, like massages, facials, etc. I thought that was a nice touch. I did not have any other salon services, so I can't comment further.
I also found out that they plan on offering lots of specials in the future, whether buying a service and getting another half off, or offers on groupon, living social, etc., so be sure to check before you go.
I'm undecided if I will return for nail services. The job was well done, but the atmosphere and feel didn't impress. I found myself wishing I just drove a couple blocks and paid less than half for the same job without the "bells and whistles - both of which are still lacking at this point.
