  • The drive alone is worth the trip. The last couple miles are awesome and scenic. If you are in Vegas you should take the half hour drive and check it out. You have to pass a security car check so don't bring anything that could get you in trouble! You have to pay to park so that kind of sucks but you should still do it. We didn't make it early enough to get tickets for the dam tour and I was really disappointed. So if you really really want to do the dam tour make sure you get there first thing in the morning. I showed up around 2. We decided to just pay for the visitors center. The visitors center is fairly interesting but not amazing. More educational than anything. The view from the top however, is amazing! Great photo ops! You can also walk across the bridge which is pretty cool. If you go in summer bring plenty of water, it gets dam hot!!!
