  • This update pertains to the supposed "glass repair" company that works alongside Alamo Car Wash. The car wash itself is great. But since Alamo tolerates these glass repair scam artists on its premises, I have to ding them for being a part of this scam. After talking to my family and my insurance company representative, I realized that I was the victim of a WINDSHIELD REPAIR SCAM. I drove in for a car wash at Alamo. As I was paying for the Express Wash ($9), another guy came up, started spraying & wiping my windshield, and said there's a chip on it. He pressed the tip of a ballpoint pen on it to make it look like a real chip. He says he can fix it for free if my auto insurance is from any of the companies listed on his sign. It was. And me being naive and gullible, I believed him and let him do the "repair." He finished right before I went into the car wash. He even called my insurance company and had me talk to them to verify that I was the person included in the policy. I answered every question and the claim went through. Afterwards, I even shook his hand. His name was Robert (or so he says). He was a Hispanic guy who was speaking Spanish to the guy whom I paid for the car wash. He convinced me that there was a chip on it. He was conniving and convincing while I was naive and gullible. Even though I didn't pay anything, they will make a claim to my insurance, probably more than the actual cost of a real chip repair. Now, my insurance premium will probably go up. Let this be a lesson to everyone else out there, as it is for me. If you go to this car wash, or any other car wash for that matter, go ONLY for the car wash. Don't let some random guy come up and make you believe that you have a chip on your car when you don't. Even if he "fixes it for free," it'll cost you in the long run with higher insurance premiums.
