  • Thirsty Fox is the only pub in this neighbourhood, and while I can't say that I got a full picture when I was there last week, I did have a nice, albeit quick, experience. I ran into the bar when it started pouring rain and I took a table by the closed garage door-style window while I waited for my date. As I walked in, the power went out because of the brewing storm. The power was out the whole time we were there which gave me an interesting first experience. The servers were quick to take our drink orders and to joke about the power issues. While I only had a glass of wine, the price was average ($7) and the house white didn't taste like the watered down swill so often served as a house white. Seeing the bar in a no-power situation gave me the opportunity to engage with some regulars and to get a feel for the community frequenting the bar. It is a lively bunch in there and definitely reminded me of a TV bar, Cheers-style, where everybody knows your name, but not so much so that an outsider would feel unwelcome. I'll definitely be back!
