| - Horrible customer service and tremendously misleading insurance quotes!!!
I had been a loyal customer for many years. I had my auto insurance and renter's insurance policy with Ken Purdy's branch. I had no tickets, accidents or claims.
I recently got married and we purchased another, older vehicle which we wanted to add to my policy.
Before even deciding to purchase the vehicle, I called the insurance office to get a quote on how much it would cost to add the new vehicle. I gave them all pertinent information that they needed for the quote, year, make, model, VIN number, etc. They even asked me if I wanted the same coverage on the new vehicle that I had on the first one. The representative got back to me, quoting an increase of $15 per month.
We went ahead and purchased the car and added it to the policy.
I was shocked when I later received an email showing an increase of almost $80 more a month.
When I called Mr. Purdy for an explanation, he did not know and told me he would look into it and call me back the next day. Several days later, he had still not called so I called him back. He still had no answers, but once again said he would look into it and get back to me. Several days later, I still had no answers on the rate increase!
Then I received a bill in the mail for a monthly premium that was $180 MORE than I was paying before! That is $165 MORE of an increase than I had been quoted prior to buying the car!!!
In addition...prior to that, I had told Mr. Purdy that I had not been able to sign the policy papers by e signature because of some glitch with my computer or the program. He had assured me he would put them in the mail and I would have them in a couple of days. I never received the papers in the mail...only received yet another email requesting electronic signature. The only thing I received in the mail was the ridiculously high bill with no explanation!
