Interesting take on hot pot dining which ended up in unexpected pig out. I definitely felt chubby when I struggled to get up from the chair to leave. Good food and service made this experience a memorable one.
We sat at their bar tables with conveyor belt around which offers small hot pot items like mushroom, tofu and cabbage. I noticed that most people order with the servers and not picking off of the conveyor belt. It seemed more like a display. I hope those items are not spinning around for days and weeks.
Simple concept. Choose your soup, sauce then meat/veggies. I got to try their original soup base and tomato soup but have to say tomato soup is a lot better. As for sauces, you can either order one off of menu ($2 each) or walk over to their sauce station and grab your own. If ordering a sauce, I recommend their original sauce. If are going to the sauce station, I recommend mixing the soy bean sauce with green onion and spoonful of garlic. More garlic the better. I overloaded mine with 2 spoonful of garlic and it was a bit excessive...ha
As for meat, I must say their beef tongue was off the hook. It was the perfect slice, not too thin nor thick. You are eating the meat shabu-shabu style so you don't feel heavy or bloated after eating, which can be good or bad.
Skewers were good also. We got the lamb and beef. Lamb didn't have that strong gamy taste. Both were tender and not chewy at all. Servers couldn't tell the difference which was kind of funny. "I got lamb and beef here. I can't tell the difference but you will know once you eat it".
Talking about service, you can tell they are new and trying hard. Our server constantly checked on us and gave some recommendation, though his face was way too close to my face (so close his facial hair brushed a few times on my cheek which made me flinch every time). Training should focus on menu knowledge as he didn't know what was included in the combo or the difference between certain items on the menu.
Is it all a hype? Not really. Cool concept and good quality food served here. I can see myself coming back here again.
