I have been a member of this credit union for many years. As soon as my last remaining CD matures I will no longer be a member.
Customer service, or what they define as such, has never been very good and has been declining over the years.
Every time I go there I have to check to make sure I have not fallen into some slow motion world.
Today I went in to close several CD accounts and it took about 40 minutes. I had to stand in line to wait for a teller. I was the third person in line. Of course, there were only two open windows and about 10 closed windows. Each of the two windows that were open seemed to have under trained tellers. The customers they were dealing with had issues they could not handle. Each teller had to go visit a supervisor multiple times. Finally the tellers were ready to accept new customers. Problems again. More trips to the supervisors. I finally got to a teller. This person had had no idea how to deal with the completed Desert Financial forms I presented. Another trip back to the supervisor who was greatly enjoying her large drink from a local store. No, it wasn't lunch and probably not break time either.
Next I got a referral to an actual office. I had to wait longer than necessary for the staff member to realize their was a customer waiting. The staff member was pleasant and took care of my issue. An issue that could have handled in less that five minutes had there been a reasonable number of windows opened and staffed by trained tellers.
Overall --
Wait times are way to long.
The teller windows are always understaffed by under trained individuals.
Too many people who could provide assistance do not do so. "Got to finish that Big Gulp."
Rates (loans or deposits) are nothing special.
Management has no respect for customers.
The change in the name is just a way to rope in more customers who will also have to wait longer for their lack of service.
Tellers seem to be pleasant. They just lack training and are probably poorly paid. There is probably a high teller turn over.
Service there is pretty much the worst I have ever seen at a financial institution. At least they are Number One in something.
I am glad to be ending my association with Desert Financial. You would be wise never to establish a relationship with this credit union.
