This used to be a hidden gem that my coworkers, (which is a group of about ten people) and I enjoyed for our after work happy hours.
We went in last night and were very disappointed. We had heard that Tom's was under new ownership and it shows.
The biggest issue were the menu changes. They pretty much cut the menu in half and removed all of the "bar food". No bar food = no happy hour for us. I made the best of it with chips and salsa and a charcuterie board but it was disappointing. What happened to the nachos and other great bar food? Now it's just high priced entrees. We don't want to come in there for a high priced dinner! Apparently no one else does either. Besides our work group, there were three other people in the entire restaurant. If it wasn't for the "boss" who decided to pick up the tab because of the situation, we would have left!
To the new owners of Tom's...You are not going to be successful unless you make serious changes to the menu and start promoting some specials. You have to be losing money if you stay open in the evening. My group will not return until you get food fit for an enjoyable happy hour.
Good luck!
