| - This review is for the DIY dog grooming.
Since a few bad grooming experiences, I don't trust anyone to groom my dog other than myself and after reading the reviews on this place (albeit reviews on the merchandise) I thought I'd give it a try.
I came in on a not-so-hot summer day ... wow was it hot in there, add water, a blow dryer and you've got a steam room.
They've got large metal tubs to bathe your dog in that resemble sinks you'd find in the back of a restaurant. There isn't any added grip for the dogs feet so for dogs like mine that don't like baths, he did a lot of slipping, yikes!
After the bath, I brushed him, clipped his nails, cleaned his ears and started to blow dry him but it got hotter then it already was.
It was already uncomfortable for me, to the extent where sweat was dripping down my back, I swear. I then took a second and stared at my dog, heavily panting. Neither of us could take it anymore so I figured we'd get some cold water to drink and he could air dry on a nice long walk in cooler air that was outside.
I probably won't be coming back to the Soggie Dog for grooming. I'd rather break my back bathing my dog at home where I can control the temperature and not risk having a heat stroke.
I didn't bother browsing the rest the store for the selection of things people rave about because of how badly I wanted to get out of there. I'm sure it's great but I'll stick to the store I currently shop at for dog supplies... at least it's air conditioned.
