I came here again yesterday (the first time was sometime last year) because my Bf had heard all the hype about this place but had never actually tried it. I personally didn't like it the first time I came, and the second visit was no different.. so it's safe to say that I probably won't be back.
We ordered the bulgogi nachos to start -- we both actually enjoyed this a lot. You can't really ever go wrong with nachos, but this really did have that extra pop of flavor that you don't get with normal nachos. Very unique. If I ever craved nachos, I'd probably come here.. but other than that.. eh.
We should have stopped at the nachos though, because everything after that was very disappointing. Bf ordered the bulgogi burrito or something like that, and he finished half before putting it down and declaring "wtf am I eating." I had ordered the calamari taco & spam musubi with fried egg.. The calamari taco tasted like a normal taco with 2 pieces of fried calamari smothered in their "fusion" sauce which really just tasted like big mac sauce/thousand island/gross. I couldn't even force myself to finish it.. and it was at that point that I was thankful I didn't order the bulgogi cheesesteak.. I am sure I would've been highly disappointed as I AM from Philly..
Spam musubi was good.. messy to eat though :(
I like the whole concept of korean/mexican fusion, but I think I will just stick to one or the other for now. The prices are more than fair here, and the portions are huge.. but in the end I prefer quality to quantity.
