| - I'm so relieved to have an organic and natural grocery store so close to my house and finally something in place for the old fresh and easy, which I went to nearly every day while it was open. I only took a few minutes to browse the aisles today, so this review is sure to be updated soon.
I was impressed at how much product they were able to fit into the space. The aisles were reasonably large but jam packed with items on each shelf. Many aisles were dedicated to vitamins, remedies, and powders, which is to be expected since this health food store was more or less conceived from vitamin shop parents.
The produce area is right up front, full of bright fruits and vegetables, and beyond it a large cooler with drinks and grab n go meals for an easy in-and-out meal method. I can see myself utilizing that amenity for quick lunches and maybe even dinners in the near future.
There are nuts and grains out the wazoo, and there is also a large frozen section across the back full of organic stuff like Amy's bowls. I don't really care for frozen stuff personally. There is a large selection of snacks like popcorn and organic chip varieties, if you're a snacker. In true health food fashion, there isn't any wine, beer, or liquor sold here from what I could find.
The only thing that stumped me, and the reason I gave it only 4 stars so far, is the meat section is hilariously small, nevermind a butcher or a meat counter. It's a small 4 foot section that only offers a few cuts of each meat (all prepackaged), some ground beef and bison, and cure pre sliced deli meats. I didn't even see any raw fish there, and I circled the entire store four times and checked again each time, because it confused me so much that there was barely any meat available. So the sad news is, for any kind of variety I'll be continuing to drive 20 minutes to Whole Foods.
Everyone who hasn't been should check it out. I'm not one of those "meat is murder" people by any means, but I couldn't help walking out of the store wondering if I should take a new perspective and the amount of meat I consume could stand to change?
