| - CHANGED FROM 1 STAR TO 3 BASED ON UPDATE #2 BELOW.
SEE BELOW FOR CONTINUED STORY:
Absolute WORST theatre. They were understaffed so the line to buy tickets was insane and they refused to put another person on the register.
They have four automated machines for self-serve credit card transactions, but two were down and the other two would not work with two of my credit cards. I suspect they have not been updated to accept new cards with chips.
Finally, the concession stand needs to get it together and replenish supplies as they run out. I was at this theater early in the week and they ran out of the white cheddar shakers I like to add to my popcorn. One time, oh well.
The next time I came to this theater was Friday the same week, a few days later. Before entering the line for concessions, I asked a theater employee if they had restocked it, and he said they had more in back. After waiting in yet another line (about 12-15 minutes), because again they were understaffed, I was told they were out of white cheddar. When I explained another employee said they had it in back, this employee questioned me and asked me to point out who told me as if to validate my claim, so I did. Then he responds, "well I was just back there and we don't have any."
Really annoying to wait in all these lines just to enter my movie in a bad mood because of incompetent employees. And just to add icing to the cake, this theater used to be owned by RAVE Motion Pictures who used to provide the popcorn toppers for FREE (and never ran out, I might add), and now AMC charges for the toppers that they cannot even provide.
To add more fun, I sat down and right on the arm rest was a sticky gross something, so I had to go wash my hands.
UPDATE: I spoke to the manager, who was as incompetent as any other employee. As I told my story, I remained calm explaining that I had already left my review on Yelp. He simply nodded with an expressionless face. I ended it by asking for a refund on my tickets. He said he could do that and went to get it.
When he returned, I asked if there was a manager higher than him, because he did not even apologize or act sympathetic throughout the whole experience. He said there was. I decided not to continue through the ranks, but explained that I thought he was handling my concerns very poorly and that's when HE blamed ME... "Well I don't know what you wanted from me. You just kept talking and talking and I couldn't get a word in. I actually did apologize back there (lies), but you couldn't hear me."
On my way out, I said I hope they go out of business (now I was a bit heated), and he responded with his FIRST smile of the interaction and gave me a sarcastic thumbs up.
NO customer service at this place at all!!
UPDATE #2:
After stepping out for a few minutes to cool down, I went back in to speak to the ACTUAL manager. Turns out the sarcastic kid was just a supervisor.
The manager was the complete opposite of the supervisor. He was polite and empathetic. He understood our issues and why we were concerned and even agreed with this initial review.
He spoke with the supervisor about his actions and is using the experience as a training opportunity for the kid.
It is because of this manager, I've changed the review from 1 star to 3 star and will be returning to the theater, hopefully with better experiences in the future.
I do leave the review at only 3 stars, however, because while the manager was fantastic, this theater still has some work to do with updating their automated ticket machines and training employees properly.
