  • Victory is a versatile pub which does everything well. They actually live up to the goal of providing its patrons with reasonable food. Don't expect the food to blow you away, but it's one of the few pubs where I'd rather order there than go exploring the neighborhood for eats. The pub is sprawled over the site of a rustic old victorian house. This is the perfect set up because it allows for several separated areas. I count at least 5 different segments, including a quaint patio which overlooks the intersection of Markham and Lennox. This gives the pub significant flexibility. On random weeknights it can easily maintain a good atmosphere in the first floor bar, while also being a reliable destination if you have a large group, even on busy summer nights. The servers are generally friendly, but relaxed. If you want something done quickly, you may have to take the initiative. When you factor in the great location (a stones throw from Bathurst Station), and reasonable prices, the Victory makes a compelling case as a go-to location for meeting friends.
