  • The one star is for the one person who actually provided any service; the host who seated me. I wish there were 2 separate star ratings; 4 stars for the food. 0 for the awful service and lip service from the MANAGER. I had the delicious egg rolls. I've had them before and loved them. But I had experienced poor service before, which is a reoccurring theme in the reviews for this restaurant. I was seated right away by the host, a middle-aged looking gentleman wearing a green sweater. He seated me, took my drink order, and indicated my server would be over. My server NEVER came to my table. The host later returned and took my order and periodically checked on me while I ate. I sat in 1 of the booths along the right wall. I noticed all 4 booths, including mine, had 1 or 2 customers only each. The only time a server helped 1 of the tables on my side of the restaurant was when the customer shouted and waved him over; he had to do that 2xs. No server came to the table in front nor behind me the whole 30 minutes I was there. The left side of the restaurant had whole families or groups of 3 or more seated at each table and booth. The servers were plenty busy helping them. Social bias anyone? Just before I went to the cashier, I spoke to the host about tipping him directly. As required, I went to the cashier to pay my bill. I asked to speak to the manager, who was behind the cashier. I explained my (and my side of the restaurant's) lack of service. The manager apologized for the poor service. I also explained I wanted to tip the host directly. The manager explained that the tips get pooled and to leave it on the table. I explained I didn't want any of my tip money to go to the server who NEVER came to my table. Then I asked to speak to the host so I could tip him. The manager said, "He just left," which, I believe, was total bullshit. I looked around and could not find the host. I told him, "Okay. Then I'm leaving no tip." I left. Pho So 1 lost a customer. And I recommend everyone who keeps going back & experiencing poor service, to just stop going. Their service won't improve until we as customers make a statement (by not eating there). Customers have the power (cuz we got the moola) to support their business or their competitors.
