| - Where do I even start? Everything about this deal was shady. And apparently from the reviews here they are famous for being shady. I went in for a 14,500 car. So the sales rep Albert shows me a number around $18,000. I say no thanks and it comes way down. So when i got to the finance guy, Josh, the number jumps up to 20,100. He told me how hybrids cost a lot more to fix and pressured me into getting the extended warranty for 2400. And gap insurance which is already included in my auto insurance policy.
Here is the shadiest part: My contract was for 5.00% interest. Josh calls me two days later and tells me they can't get that interest rate and it will go to 9.9% so come on in and sign the new paperwork. Ummm....I don't think so.
He says that they have lowered the price of the car so my payment will only be $10 a month more because "we're doing our part to help you out." I asked him how much the new amount financed would be and he said 20,100. EXACTLY the same as before. I think he just added 12 more months to the loan, but i don't know because they say you have to come talk to them in person to find out anything.
After all the other shady things, this was the final straw. I went there two times for at least 30 minutes each time and never got any help. I called twice and left messages and no one returned my call. So today I took the car there, left my keys and manuals at the front desk and said they can just have the car back because I am not agreeing to a higher interest rate and payment. Of course NOW within two minutes my phone is ringing like crazy. The finance manager, Michael, says "great news, we can do 5.99%" (still not 5.00). I say no again because that is not what I agreed to, and I wasn't happy with the deal anyway so let's just forget it. WHAT KIND OF SCAM IS THIS? They call to say your rate is going higher and when you complain, it magically drops down. He stressed how they had to "buy down" the interest rate and they were going to lose money on this because I didn't qualify for 5.00%. THEN WHY BOTHER TO SPECIFY 5% IN THE CONTRACT?? I got in contact with the finance guy who did my financing there before (he has quit since then) and he said they do this all the time. So I say fine, if you are going to lose money doing that, cancel the deal and sell it to someone you can make the money on because I am tired of dealing with this in person for 5 of the past 6 days.
Another shady thing: their ZakTek paint protection is put on EVERY VEHICLE they sell and they charge you $400 for that. At least 3 people told me it is required and already on the vehicle and there is nothing i can do to avoid that fee. Of course during signing they skip right past the part where it says it is NOT required. I couldn't get the floor mats and trunk liner because they were "locked up in the service department because it's Sunday." It turns out there never were floor mats or a trunk liner. There was dog hair all over the interior and it took two days for them to reluctantly clean it.....which ended up meaning they lightly vacuumed the carpet. I sent pictures to Albert and zero response. The car is still at their lot. If they don't cancel the deal, I will request arbitration. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CON SHOP.
