| - When you want unique tapas, this is the place to go! We enjoyed
1) Ajo Blanco Con Cangrejo - chilled almond and garlic soup with crabmeat and green grapes This coarse soup is very tasty; the grapes were thinly sliced instead of just a whole grape. Highly recommend.
2) Ostras 'gin & Tonic' five oysters with lemon, gin and tonic
Be sure to slurp the wonderful tasting gin sauce before enjoying the oyster.
3) Remolacha Con Cítricos
a salad of red beets, citrus, la peral cheese and pistachios with sherry dressing
Tasty and a nice pallette cleanser between tapas....
4) pork and foie gras canelones with bechamel sauce
Unique way to serve foie gras - and enjoyable. Since we live in a state where foie gras is illegal, it was so fun (yet naughty) to enjoy such a fun dish. As mentioned by others they are like foie gras cannelonis.
5) Bikini De Jamón Ibérico, Queso Manchego Y Trufas
pressed sándwich of ibérico ham, manchego cheese and truffles
The truffles makes this a unique smooth and enjoyable dish.
We enjoyed sangria with dinner.....
and then we had their wonderful cappuchinos and desert of
Pan Con Chocolate
chocolate custard with caramelized bread, olive oil and brioche ice cream
Olive oil ice cream - yum, the best.
This is our second visit to Jaleo and the food was as good and as unique as our first visit. Our server was good, but not as wonderful as our first visit. Our first visit the server went out of her way to recommend and delight us with her recommendations for both alcohol and tapas to order.
As such, we saved about $70.00 this 2nd visit......as we ordered fewer drinks and left with a little less alcoholic buzz. We would have gladly paid that $70.00 for the same sever in the future....however. She was amazing.
