  • Casel on 17th boasts some impressive amenities in this 'island' of sorts. This condo building features one of Calgary's best restaurants (Cassis Bistro), a well-stocked wine store, a pizza joint in addition to Market 17, a neighbourhood grocery store with so much more. What I love about Market 17 is that it has so many facets. It's a grocery with plenty of local product from small businesses in the area, a convenience store with it's selection of healthy selections that can be picked up on the way home or work as well as a full cafe with fresh coffee and pastries. I support small business. I prefer to shop local when I can because I love to meet the people behind the goods I buy. People like me that have families and lives like mine. I feel good knowing that my money goes towards a sustainable living for real people, not faceless entities. The owners are very knowledgeable, friendly and eager to answer my questions on the many wonderful products they carry. It's a delight to wander through the store and just look around at all the great food here. I truly wish much success to Market 17.
