I really want to give a stellar review but I can not. Unless you have a special unicorn disease that's rare, this isn't the place for you. National Institute of Health or Cleveland Clinic might be better options.
Long story short my Dr was arrogant, didn't listen, and basically unprofessional. I had a lot of tests and basically booted to the curb. I'm not a fan of the GI Department in general.
My brother traveled 1500 miles for help with very severe migraines... stayed several weeks for tests and was basically booted to the curb. I'm not a fan of the Neurology Department.
I have another family member sort of receiving treatment. She's not getting better but they have the only specialist for her condition on this side of the country. Her GI does listen and seems genuinely engaged. She has dysautonomia which impacts multiple areas of the body.
They have some really nice nurses and some really nice doctors but just like anywhere else there are some not so nice folks. The check in and scheduling people can be really horrible. I don't think they realize they chose this job... it's a pretty easy job, sitting in air conditioning versus working in 100+ degree heat outside. I've never seen a patient get out of hand or raise their voice but those folks act like the patients are the enemy... not all but some do.
The gift shops are run by volunteers and they are very nice. I like the ones at the Mayo Hospital better as well as their cafe. See you can tell I've spent a lot of time at their facilities. The facilities are nice. At the hospital I think the patient to nurse ratio is 1:4 which I think is really good in comparison to my local hospital.
