  • Unfortunate. My movers were both very personable individuals which is important in any customer service role but this move simply didn't go as planned. 1.) When I spoke with Stephanie about a week before my move I listed the large items that I had and received an estimate of approximately $450 for a 3 hour move. That's pretty much the average and what I've paid in the past with other movers in the area with the same amount of furniture, clothing, etc. It took them 3 hours just to load the truck?! Total move time: 6.5 hours for a grand total of $834. During the move, the two movers constantly complained about the BIG job they had after mine. It was my impression they were dragging their feet (sometimes 20-30 minutes between trips from the truck to my apt) in an attempt to get out of it. 2.) 3/4 the way through the move in, the older gentleman said he needed to use the restroom and I was on the outside on the phone with Stephanie to pay my bill. When I came inside he let me know that he used my shower to freshen up as he had cat hair on him and hates cats. A little unprofessional and I was trying to hold myself together after just hearing that my price practically doubled. I believe in being kind to representatives on the phone and wasn't about to chew her out when it's not entirely her fault, but two days later I have such a bad taste in my mouth with how this all went down. After they left I went to take a shower myself and discovered the muddy/dirt MESS left behind by the mover in my shower. Not okay! 3.) I was asked to fill out a written survey at the end - I had to fill this out right in front of the mover and there was no envelope or anything to put it in.... I'm alone with two strangers much stronger than me in my home, how do you expect me to be honest in this position? Of course I gave a glowing review. 4.) The mover told me it was only his second time doing billing and didn't know how to do the carbon copy with my card. I had to walk him through it. They arrived on time and treated my belongings with respect. Also, there was no damage done to any of my furniture, so I'm going to give them 2-stars instead of 1. If they would've shown more empathy for being so off on their estimate, I probably would've given 4-stars. An ESTIMATE is an ESTIMATE not a promise, I recommend to Stephanie that she ask more detailed questions before giving a quote. I'd recommend to the movers to not discuss other clients in front of one that's currently paying them.
