Um. I don't know how to be constructive on this one. I wanted to like this place so bad because I've heard great things and the Yelp reviews are 4 stars. But upon entering the restaurant I knew the experience wasn't going to be great.
First of all, the waitress was very brash. She was very loud and said things that just seemed out of place. Like when she dropped off a second plate of free garlic bread. She said, "I'm starving right now so enjoy"... what?! You could hear her talking anywhere she was in the restaurant. Most times I couldn't hear my boyfriend but could hear her while she was 30 feet away.
For the food, well, it was underwhelming. The free garlic bread didn't taste like it had garlic on it. (Also, why would they have garlic bread on the menu as an appetizer when they give it away for free?) I ordered a pizza which tasted more like a frozen pizza than freshly made. My boyfriend did say his lasagna was good. I had a hard time believing he could taste anything other than the 1 pound of melted cheese that was engulfing the entire thing.
I won't be back. There are much nicer places around Madison to enjoy Italian fare. As well, more professional servers who make the dining experience fun rather than distracting.
