| - My family and I recently visited Pittsburgh for a Steelers game. We stayed at the Wyndham for three nights and had two rooms. I knew the rooms were small, so that was of no surprise. However, I was not prepared for how dirty the rooms would be. Within the first 10 minutes of entering after checking in, I noticed a stain on one of the pillow cases, dust covering all tables including the nightstand, hair spread through the shower, and BLACK PIECES OF HAIR covering a TOWEL in the bathroom. It was a washed towel, but the people folding didn't even bother to CHECK that it was covered with hair. Seriously, not just one piece, but covered. It was also extremely obvious that the carpets had not been vacuumed - there was little pieces of paper/ white bits on the entire floor. It was truly disgusting and made me question whether or not the sheets were even changed. I hate being in a hotel and not feeling confident that it was clean. I called downstairs to ask about a new pillow because there was a stain, and the lady didn't even apologize. She just said "I will try to get someone to bring up a new one." You will try? How about "I'm so sorry that you JUST got here and already your pillow is dirty." Also, I never received the new pillow. I just gave up and put the dirty pillow in the corner and didn't touch it.
Summary: the worst part about the rooms was the tiny, uncomfortable beds, the disgusting floors, and the DIRTY linens and furniture.
The maids came once during the stay, and she spent all of three minutes cleaning the room. I know how long it took, because I was in the adjoining room that we had rented out. She did not wash anything, no linens were changed despite being dirty, she did not vacuum, and the beds were made so haphazardly it was almost laughable. I am now reading reviews and I see many people complaining of bed bugs from this location. If it turns out that my family or myself contracted scabies / bugs, I will be livid. Furthermore, when we were leaving, the gentleman downstairs told us that it was a $40 ride to the airport through their service. However, once we got to airport, the driver said "that will be $55." My mother told him that we were told it was 40, and he immediately said "okay." So either way, someone lied - the man in the hotel to make us want the trip, or the driver to pocket extra money.
I was very disappointed in my stay - No one should feel unclean when paying so much for a hotel.
I truly wish I had taken pictures, but I just didn't think of it. Sorry.
